Yazdi Kid Freeing Birds

“ Freedom – or its opposite – appears in the world whenever such principles are actualized; the appearance of freedom, like the manifestation of principles, coincides with the performing act. Men are free – as distinguished from their possessing the gift for freedom – as long as they act, neither before nor after, for to be free and to act are the same”

There was this dovecote on the roof of our hostel there in Yazd, and while we were having breakfast on the terrace this kid proceeded to free all the birds – most of which did not seem too interested in exploring the outside world until the kid actually physically kicked them away.

What a strong image, I really love the message it conveys. The composition and the movement of the boy are excellent. Great work!
