Dizin is the major Iranian ski resort. Located about 1h30 minutes from Tehran it is known to be a fairly “liberal” place, where youngsters go to escape the city’s mayhem. The slopes weren’t opened yet when I went, but they did look fairly decent. Another popular option amongst Tehranis is the Tochal resort, accessible directly by cable car from the outskirts of Tehran. Tochal is actually the highest resort in the country, with an altitude of 3964m.
